Wellington, FL - 2kGrey Best Seat Award winner Janne Rumbough first learned how integral a quiet seat was to winning Grand Prix from the back of her stallion, Gaucho III. Now Gaucho’s progeny are dominating the dressage arena, and her performance with Junior during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival Palm Beach Dressage Derby that earned Rumbough the Best Seat Award from 2kGrey. In 2009, at age 19, Gaucho III became the first Andalusian (PRE) stallion to rank (seventh) on the USEF Leading Dressage Sires Standings and is still the leading Andalusian sire of dressage horses. Which makes Rumbough's award-winning Grand Prix ride on Junior, the aptly-named son of her Gaucho III, all the sweeter. Grey, like his sire, and standing an attention-getting 17 hands high, Rumbough's 12 year-old PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) gelding took AGDF8 CDIW Palm Beach Dressage Derby spectators' breath away during Friday's FEI Grand Prix 2014 test, as he earned solid scores as high as 63.40% from its judges. (Blood would tell: Junior's dam, La Nin III, was by Brioso VI, one of three notable stallions, including Invasor III and Distinguido, produced by the famous Spanish breeder, Romero Benitez).

To 2kGrey’s co-founder, Kristine Pinto, the only thing more beautiful than Rumbough's purebred Spanish horse was her wonderfully quiet yet deft seat.

“There was no question, she already had an amazing seat, so it was a natural choice to also present her with the 2kGrey Best Seat Award,” said Pinto. Rumbough was presented with her award of a gift certificate for a brand new pair of 2kGrey white full seat breeches and a stunning purple neck ribbon for Junior.

2kGrey came about through a love of fashion and dreams of designing riding apparel. In 2011, the 2kGrey founders met Meryl Ranzer who has 25 years of experience in fashion, having worked in the business as a designer, merchandiser, graphic artist, product developer and teacher. Ranzer has worked on private label for Oleg Cassini, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Kellwood, and Victoria’s Secret. In addition to being a partner at 2kGrey, Ranzer is an instructor at Parsons School of Design, and is on the board of advisors for Tabii Just, a zero waste clothing line.

This year's Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI W was sanctioned by the FEI to also qualify for the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Finals, the only annual global championship for dressage, in Lyon, France, in April 2014.
