All 2021 EAP Regional Training Sessions will operate under strict COVID-19 prevention protocols. Regional Training Sessions will only take place provided that current state and local guidelines on gatherings and events permit the facility to host a session safely. Should any host facility cancel their session due to COVID-19 restrictions, all participants will be notified by the USHJA as soon as possible and permitted to transfer to another session if space is available.

The USHJA extends its gratitude to 2021 EAP Regional Training Session hosts Centenary University, Fox Lea Farm, Great Southwest Equestrian Center, Ledges Sporting Horses, Los Angeles Equestrian Center, Mount Holyoke College, Sonoma Valley Stables, Tryon International Equestrian Center, University of Findlay and University of Tennessee Martin. A complete list of Regional Training Session dates, locations and clinicians can be found here.

Following the Regional Training Sessions, 16 of the Regional Training Session participants and a select number of stable managers will be invited to attend the National Training Session held November 11-14 at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. At the conclusion of the session, one rider is named the overall USHJA EAP National Champion based on their performance in the riding and stable management sessions throughout the week, earning a $3,000 grant to be applied toward the cost of advanced training with an approved trainer. The Champion and Reserve Champion are also offered the opportunity to participate in the following year’s USHJA Gold Star Clinics.

The Emerging Athletes Program is also supported in part by a generous grant from US Equestrian, as well as individual donors through the USHJA Foundation. For more information, visit ushja.org/EAP.
