For anyone who competes in the sport of Combined Driving, the dedication of any organizing committee and location hosting the event id often a labor of love and dedication to the sport. In the US, the entry fees and related expanses of competitors only covers about half of the cost to run a show.

The organization of an International Driving Event is complex and requires that an expert organizing committee has considered all details to ensure the smooth running of such an Event.

The Organizing Committee and the Event Officials which include the Ground Jury, Appeal Committee, Veterinary Commission, Technical Delegate, Course Designer, Chief Steward, etc. all have a precise part to play in the organization and management of an Event.

However for any Event to be a success it is imperative that the Organizing Committee and all officials act as a member of a team. The Athletes must not overlook the fact that it is for their benefit that all have worked and cooperated; that they are lucky … or unlucky and that everyone involved consider that the welfare of the horse is paramount.

The FEI has published the 2019 FEI Guidelines for Driving Events.
