Below you will find the latest release of videos. As always we hope you find them helpful in application to your own education and ride.

Additionally we have listed a “How To” guide at the bottom of the newsletter that should answer any questions regarding how to navigate the new site.

13 New Training Videos Available!

Catherine Haddad-USACatherine represented the US in the 2007 World Cup, for the last 8 years she has ran her own training stable, International Dressage, out of Vechta, Germany, where she has 3 grand prix horses she is currently competing for a spot at the 2010 WEG.

Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg-AUTArthur is the former Chief Rider from the famed Spanish Riding School. He has trained multiple horses and riders to the Olympic level. Arthur works with a GP/S horse in hand and a 2nd/M level horse.

New Video- 6 yr. old, 2nd/I Level, preparation for a run through of 2nd level test and then a test performance. See very nice examples of lengthenings in all 3 gaits as they should be and a good example of the 1/2 turn on the haunches. Training focuses on canter walk transitions, up and down.

Axel Steiner, FEI O Judge-USA

Axel Steiner has been involved with dressage most his life. Judging and teaching have been his primary horse activities in recent years. Axel holds the highest judge ratings – Nationally “S” and Internationally (FEI) “O,” and has judged so far in 31 countries. More recently he was on the panels for the 2000 Olympics, the 2003 Pan American Games, and the World Cup Finals in 2005.

Uwe Mechlem, FEI O Judge (retired)-GERUwe Mechlem is a German FEI O judge. Former chairman of the German Dressage Selection Committee of 20 years. Uwe now judges and gives clinics throughout Europe. Uwe also acts as Chief of German Dressage International Young Rider team.

New Video-1-4/E Level (click here for a sample clip of this video) test with scores and full commentary. This ride is filled with super examples of “8” movements and even a 9! This was a high point winner of the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, with a 78%.

Alex Gerding-USA, GERGerman Pferdewirtschaftsmeister decorated with the silver stensbeck-medaille, in 2001 by the German National Riding Federation. Licensed as an R judge in 1995 in Warendorf. Between 2005 – 2008 developed four USDF gold medalists, 2005 – 2008 developed four USDF silver medalists, 2003 – 2008 worked with riders to develop five horses qualified for the National FEI Championships in all age groups 4 to 6 year olds, 2003 worked with riders to develop two 5-year-old horses qualified for FEI Young Horse World Championships in Verden, Germany, 2003 individual coach in Verden, Germany.

Great video to get a good idea of how to go about bettering the tempi changes. Excercises to use and what can be expected. 2 months later, this pair can consistently get a line of 15 one tempis.

New Videos-Interviews with Steffen Peters, Anky Van Grunsven, Jan Brink, Shannon Peters and Debbie Witty of Trilogy saddles and an interview with Gill Merrick of the USEF and Chester Weber, silver medalist, carriage driving,  regarding the search for a new US team coach.

2006 USDF/Adequan Symposium, Performance Through Fitness with Ingrid Klimke-GERTwo-time German Olympian and World Champion event rider Ingrid Klimke, daughter of the late six-time Olympic gold medalist, Dr. Reiner Klimke, will focus on the importance of cavalletti exercises for dressage. “It is variety – dressage, jumping, hacking – that builds up different muscles in the horse,” she explains. “Classical training is always multi-faceted, and fitness is the one result.”

Tips on how to navigate the new site:

  • Go to the What’s New box, on home page underneath the sample video player to see the newest content that has been loaded.
  • To search videos, go to the Dressage Videos tab, located at the top of the home page
  • If you are having trouble seeing the entire media player (what the video plays within) use the scroll bar to the right, underneath the close/esc button, to move the picture so you can see the entire screen.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash, click here to download for free.

Bugs and Improvements

  • Global Trainer Directory has some improvements currently under construction to make this a super spot to find a traveling clinician, new resident trainer, or boarding facility.
  • Buy A Dressage Horse, Global Trainer Directory and Storefront, are all being actively marketed around the world to quickly build a robust offering within each of those sections.
  • Translations into German, Dutch, French, Spanish and Swedish should be complete by 7/1/09.
  • Blog will be working on the About Us page as of 7/1/09 (uni-directional).
