Jason Canton the previous owner of Grandioso, ridden by Cesar Parra and owned by Michael and Sarah Davis has been looking for a new horse since the sale of “Grandi” the horse he piloted to win the Markel/USEF 6-year-old National Young Horse Dressage Championship in 2009.  Recently at the 74th Elite Oldenburg Auction in Vechta, Germany, Canton and partner Julia Martin purchased the 3-year-old stallion “Supremat” by Sandro Hit out of Feingau by Rubenstein. The horse will be moving to the stables of Johannes & Ines Westendarp where they will slowly prepare him for the stallion performance testing in the fall. “If Supremat would have been one year older he would have gone as the top horse in the sale.” Stated Uwe Heckmann at the press conference following the auction. Canton plans on bringing Supremat home to the United States after he finishes with his testing to take over his riding and training.

Canton has been in touch with Parra since the sale of Grandioso. “I do keep up with Cesar and am behindhim on his plans for Grandioso 100%.” Canton told DressageDaily. “I think he is doing a great job withhin.  It’s not easy taking over a ride from someone else with a horse likeGrandi. It takes time and I think Cesar is being patient with him. And I have no doubt in my mind that the horsecan be an Olympic champion.”
