Aachen (GER)-In the STAWAG-Prize, an international penalty/time jumping competition staged during the FEI European Championships Aachen 2015, Emanuele Gaudiano, the Italian show-jumper, who lives in Germany, jumped clear with Caspar and finished the course in a time of 67.39 seconds. Which was faster than his 56 fellow competitors. “Caspar already competed here as a 7-year-old, he loves this big grass ring here in Aachen,” beamed the 29-year-old.

“And so do I. It is my third time here in Aachen. It is never easy here, but it is always fantastic!” Second place in the STAWAG-Prize went to the reigning European Champion from France, Roger Yves Bost, with Qoud’Coeur de la Loge. This pair also finished clear in a time of 67.84 seconds. The two horses that came first are not necessarily well-known for their speed, but more for their big canter strides, which is an advantage in the big jumping stadium at the Aachen Soers. Andreas Schou (Denmark) came third on the Dutch-bred gelding, Allstar (0/69.40 seconds).

In total, 22 horse and rider teams had clear rounds in the STAWAG-Prize. 57 riders from 22 nations took part in the competition.
