Putting on a show at the Ocala Jockey Club, Saturday, November 16, 2019 will be Mary Phelps and and her Classic American Shetlands ponies Markel’s Al Capony and Kimba, just returned for Europe where they trained and competed at the FEI World Driving Championships for Ponies in Kisber, Hungary in the Pony Pair Division. They won the Gold Medal in the Cones Phase for the Pony Pairs, and finished 12th over all among the best ponies and pony drivers in the world..

Combined Driving was modeled after the sport of Eventing by Prince Philip while he served as President of the FEI from 1964-1986. With three phases, Dressage, The Marathon, and Cones th sport offers levels Training through Advances for Single, Pair, and Four-In-Hand Ponies and horses. At the Ocala Jockey Club International Three Day Event, Mary and her “Flying Gangsters” will do a demonstration Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 demonstration the different facets of the sport..
