Andrew Marcoux & Coachman’s Delight: A Lifetime Advancing Carriage Driving
Coachman’s Delight, Inc., founded in 1997, is a premier training and education hub for the sport of carriage driving, led by Andy Marcoux. A respected trainer, competitor, clinician, and mentor, Andy has dedicated decades to advancing driving across North America and internationally.
A Journey Built on Education, Experience, and Advocacy
Andy’s equestrian path grew from a lifelong passion for horses into a multi-decade professional career focused on education and horsemanship. A graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts, he has spent more than 30 years training horses of all breeds and levels, from early education through competitive performance.
In 1997, Andy established Coachman’s Delight, Inc. with a mission to provide high-quality training and instruction in carriage driving. His program includes private lessons, clinics, and extensive online educational courses designed to support drivers at every stage of their development, from newcomers to advanced competitors.
Competitive Depth and Driving Expertise
Andy’s competitive experience spans Combined Driving singles and pairs through advanced levels. He has also competed extensively in pleasure driving with singles, pairs, tandems, and four-in-hand teams. Known for his enthusiasm for the sport’s traditions, Andy brings classical knowledge and practical experience together in both competition and instruction.
During the winter season, he trains, teaches, and competes in Ocala, Florida, where he continues to work with drivers and horses across multiple disciplines and experience levels.
Leadership in Training and Standards
Andy holds internationally recognized credentials as a British Driving Society–certified Light Harness Horse Instructor and Assessor. He has played a significant role in shaping education standards within the United States driving community through his work with the Carriage Association of America’s Carriage Driver Proficiency Program, where he helped establish measurable benchmarks for driver education and now serves as a Master Evaluator and instructor.
