Lendon Gray Passing On The Legacy
Gray's first highly successful student was Gwyneth McPherson, who was the youngest rider to win a national Championship (age 12) and the youngest North American Young Rider Champion (age 16). Others who trained wit her a young riders were Chris Hickey, Liz Britten (Hendrix), Nancy Later, and Alison Sader (Larson). "My belief has always been dressage for the sake of making any horse better. My goals now include encouraging all types of riders to learn about and use Dressage techniques to improve their horses and to bring Dressage to our youngest riders. This will mean we have to develop Dressage ponies for them to learn on. I am bringing along some wonderful juniors and adult amateurs, most without Olympic aspirations." Watching her walk around the grounds at her show it is obvious that she loves what she is doing. The opportunities that she creates for young riders are as limitless as her energy and enthusiasm. |
