The first World Equestrian Games took place in 1990. Before that, there were only championships in each single discipline.
  • 1990: Stockholm, Sweden
  • 1994: The Hague, Netherlands
  • 1998: Rome
  • 2002: Jerez, Spain
  • 2006: Aachen, Germany (Aug. 22-Sept. 3)
  • 2010: Lexington, Ky. (Sept. 20-Oct.3)
