Cross Country Will Be Tough

Michael

Etherington Smith Sydney, Australia
Sept 17, 2000 - Monday is the endurance phase of the three-day event and Michael Etherington Smith has built a fair but tough course. If the weather repeats itself from Sunday, which was more like the middle of summer rather than Spring for Australia, it could add an added pressure on the horses.

"The fences have lots of options," commented Karen O'Connor, who is leading the U.S. contingent with the best score. She'll be riding Prince Panache. Joining Karen are her husband David on his Atlanta Olympic mount Giltedge, Nina Fout on 3 Magic Beans and Linden Wiesman on Anderoo.
