Jackie
Chan Stars in HKTB Olympics Promotional Video
The
Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has once again invited internationally
renowned movie star cum Tourism Ambassador Mr Jackie Chan to film
in a promotional video for Hong Kong. Appearing in the Riding
School and Equestrian Park of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Beas River
Country Club on Monday, February 11. Chan sported a full jockey outfit
and promoted the message of Hong Kong as co-host city for the Olympics
Equestrian Events to international audience. In the video,
Chan also introduced Hong Kong’s unique living culture, featured
the city’s gourmet offerings and gave a lion dance performance.
Chan said
the co-hosting of the Olympics Equestrian Events offers Hong Kong
an opportunity of a lifetime. Taking pride as the tourism ambassador
for Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific, he said he would seize this opportunity
to proactively promote Hong Kong to the world. According to
sources, Chan has come back especially for HKTB’s Olympics
video shooting when he was in fact filming for another production
overseas.
The
promotional video is about 30 seconds long and will be available
in English and Putonghua. The HKTB will come up with two versions
of the video to cater to the preferences of visitors of short and
long-haul markets. Besides promoting Hong Kong as the co-host
city of the Olympics Equestrian Events, the video also showcased
the charm and attractions of Hong Kong, its local dining scene, fascinating
culture and heritage.
The video
will be aired on various channels and networks including National Geographic
channel, ESPN, Eurosport and AXN next month, covering regions of both
short and long-haul markets such as the Mainland China, Southeast Asia,
North Asia, Taiwan, Australia and Europe. In addition, it can
be viewed on the internet and during consumer and travel trade activities
hosted by the HKTB.
