The 2000 NAYRC Eventing Gold Medal Team - Holly Payne of Oldwick, NJ with The Federalist, Sean Brescia of The Plains, VA with Von Otto, Sara Kozumplik of Middleburg, VA with What You Will, and Mary Grantham of Charlottesville, VA with Ides of March.

The 2000 North American Young Riders' Championships holds a special place in Sara Kozumplik's heart. At 21-years-old, it is the final year she is able to compete at the North American Young Riders' Championships. This year marks the final year her trainer, Jimmy Wofford was the coach for the Area 2 team.

When asked what she thought was the highlight of the week, she said, " I love competing with all of my teammates. It is great to spend time with your peers. We are all very close. I think the best part of competing this year is the fact that we all came in first, second, third, and fourth."

Kozumplik attributes a great amount of her success to the support she gets from her mother Carole, father Peter, trainer Jimmy Wofford and her sponsors Clifton Saddlery, Paul Coury, Anna Wolfe, and Edith Hornberger. " I don't know what I would do without them. They are all such wonderful people! I'm very lucky," she said.
