For The Love of Horses, an Interview with Leah Trunzo

Horse crazy? Well, if that means you eat, sleep, and dream horses, then that is exactly what describes 21-year-old Sara Kozumplik, this year's 2000 North American Young Riders' Three-Day-Event Individual and Team Gold Medallist.

Born and raised in England, Kozumplik has been surrounded by horses since she was very young. Her mother, Carole, an avid equestrian herself, plopped her daughter on the back of a sturdy pony when she was three. It is safe to say that from that day forward Sara was hooked!

As an adolescent, Kozumplik joined the Pony Club to improve her riding. It was no time at all before she flew threw the Pony Club's rankings. In 1996, at the age of 17, She achieved an "A" rating (highest attainable rating), and in the same year she began her instruction in Eventing, with Jimmy Wofford, former Three-Day-Event Olympian, and former President of The American Horse Shows Association. Since then she has been riding event horses non-stop.
