Vaulting Committee Meeting, Poznan (POL) 5-6 August 2001

The FEI Vaulting Committee held its annual meeting in Poznan (POL) on 5th and 6th August just prior to the European Vaulting Championship. Dr Gernot Spitzer (AUT), President of the International Vaulters’ Club, attended the meeting in a consultative capacity.

The meeting was the last one to be chaired by Mrs Helma Schwarzmann (GER) after 12 years as either member or Chairman of the Committee. Mr Jean-Michel Pinel (FRA) will replace Mrs Schwarzmann as Chairman in 2002.

The Committee agreed that the qualification criteria, which shall apply for the World Championship 2002, should remain unchanged from the qualification criteria required for the 2000 World Championship i.e. an average score of at least 6.0 points (final result in one round) reached at least two CVI**s in Europe (one CVI**/* outside Europe).

The Committee discussed at length a proposal to remove the age limit in the team competition. As this would be a far-reaching move, it was agreed that the opinion of National Federations would be sought before any further action is taken in this regard.
