Jumping: A French Day in Spain
The
U.S. Team Place Sixth While Wylde Leads Individually
Try
as they might, luck was not with the American team on Nations Cup day.
There was no feeling that the horses weren't up to the task. They had
all jumped brilliantly and with a lot of power. It seemed that in the
end it was a bit of bad luck combined with tired horses that took its
toll on the team from the USA. Instead it was the French team that claimed
the Gold Medal followed by the Swedes for the Silver and Belgium for
the Bronze. This would be a first medal ever for the Silver and Bronze
Medalists. Are hopes were still high because Individually we were doing
great. Peter Wylde had ridden his mare Fein Cera to three clear rounds
and he was first in the order Individually. On his heels was Frenchman
Eric Navet and standing third was Helena Lundback from Sweden.
