Show Jumping Continues for the Individual Medals

ROUND 1

FuchsNow it was time for the Individual riders to duke it out. They would be jumping two courses. The first course would have 12 fences and the second course 10 fences. At the end of the first round Fein Cera had dropped one rail and stood second behind Eric Navet and Dollar du Murier HTS de Seine. Navet was the only one of two riders to negotiate a totally clear round. The other was Italy's Gianni Govoni riding the KWPN Mare Loro Piana Havinia.

For the other riders it was a bit of a disaster. So, four faults for Peter was okay. Helena Lundback who was standing third, had two rails down and Eric Levallois, a member of the Gold Medal French Team, also had two rails down. And that's pretty much they way it was falling for all the riders. Others had even worse problems. Jeroen Dubbeldam of the Netherlands had a refusal with De Sjiem which moved him way down from his fifth place position. Switzerland's Markus Fuchs went through a fence and stopped. Italy's Jerry Smit had 12 faults. Ludger Beerbaum had 8 faults. It was a tough course and it was taking its toll on these horses and riders.
