We were taken on a tour of the wine cellars, where the process of developing the world famous sherry was explained, by the vineyard representative Carlos Estevez. Large barrels of the grape begin at the ceiling and slowly work their way to the bottom barrels. As our group migrates into the magnificent hallways of the main building, we are served more sherry, and "Tapas" the Spanish version of hors d'oeuvres. The group continues to grow as we are joined by the heartiest of the press corps who braved a day of rain and wind to cover the 100 mile Endurance Race, which was the WEG competition of the day.

As we moved into the main dining hall, we were treated to an elegant four course meal of salad, prawns, steak, and vegetables, topped by a luxurious dessert sherry, and ice cream with more of the local grapes and sherry flavor. Speaking for the guest of the evening, Susan Jane Anstey, president of the International Alliance of Equestrian Journalists, graciously thanked our hosts, and conveyed the appreciation of a tired yet revived group for such a magnificent evening.

Magnificent like the breed they represent, the ANCCE group has seized the opportunity to share with us their love of their horses, their wine, and their country.
