A starting field of 73 horses attempted the track set by Olaf Petersen, Jr., of Germany, son of two-time Olympic course designer Olaf Petersen.  A total of 18 riders managed clear rounds, but it was Dobbs, riding out of 13th position in the starting order, who posted the fastest time, stopping the timers in 70.76 seconds.

Only one rider, Kent Farrington, managed to better the winning time late in the class, but having knocked down the second-to-last fence with Nerina, his time of 69.77 was irrelevant.

"It is hard to watch 60 riders go after you," exclaimed Dobbs, 19.  "You never think your time is going to hold up with so many great riders with multiple horses coming after you.  Kent had my time, he's always blazing.  But things worked out this Thursday again."

Of her partner Corlett, an 11-year-old German-bred mare, Dobbs noted, "My mare feels unreal right now, she loves this footing.  She feels rested, happy and all my horses are jumping the best they have ever jumped.  I cant' even express how I am feeling."

Yann Candele, who last week obtained his Canadian citizenship but will continue to represent France until he is named to a Canadian Show Jumping Team, placed second for owner Susan Grange of Cheltenham, Ont.  Partnered with Pitareusa, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare he began riding at the beginning of the CN Winter Equestrian Festival circuit, Candele stopped the clock at 71.81 seconds.

"I thought the course was very fast, there were a lot of clear, but to be fast and clear was very difficult, and a lot of people paid the price with the rail," noted Candele, 36.  "I am very pleased with my mare.  I came in the first line and she spooked a bit, but after that she recovered well and was very focused and very efficient."

Owner Susan Grange of Lothlorien Farm had a total of three horses placed in the top five.  In addition to owning Candele's mount Pitareusa, Grange also owns In Style and Redefin, piloted to fourth and fifth places respectively by eight-time Canadian Olympian Ian Millar.  Yet another Canadian, Eric Lamaze, took sixth and seventh places riding Sadin and Hickstead.  Only Irishman Darragh Kerins broke up the Canadian party, placing third with a time of 72.80 seconds riding Night Train for owner Double H Farm.

Week Six, the CSI3* Equestrian Sport Productions LLC "AA" WCHR Spectacular, presented by the Palm Beach Post, puts the spotlight on hunter competition in the International Arena including Saturday night's AHJF/WCHR Hunter Classic.  Show jumping will be the main event on Sunday with the $60,000 Spy Coast Grand Prix CSI3*.

The 2008 CN Winter Equestrian Festival, presented by Zimmerman Advertising, attracts the best horses and riders from around the world to Wellington, Fla., and offers more than $5 million in prize money.  For more information, please visit www.equestriansport.com.
