DeRosa Daily - The 2007 Rolex FEI Las Vegas World Cup

More To Come

There’s only one more show jumping event to go and Meredith is tied with Steve Guerdat with a total of 0 faults. While McLain may have had a rail down in the second round he’s less than a rail behind the leaders with 3 penalty points. So, all is not lost and as anyone in this sport knows, things can change very quickly.

Saturday the hunters are going to be showcased in a rematch pitting four of the top European riders against four top U.S. riders. The Europeans won in 2005 and are hoping to win again but if the U.S. team of Louise Serio, Scott Stewart, Peter Pletcher and John French have their way this time it’ll be a our country that claims the victory. They are up against Olympic medalists Rodrigo Pessoa, Marcus Ehning, Christian Ahlmann and Michael Whitaker who are ready to defend their title.

That event follows the Las Vegas Grand Prix and Saturday night showcases the final dressage test, with the show jumping finals concluding on Sunday afternoon. So, there’s still a few more days of intense competition ahead.

As always, it’s great to hear from the Horsesdaily readers. Feel free to email me with your thoughts or comments at dderosa1@optonline.net.
