Atlanta, GA–June 16, 2005 – “Kicking off the first week with 32 competitors in the Superchips, Inc’s Lucky Sevens Welcome Stake is so nice” was the comment event Chairman Bob Bell made just prior to the start of the class.

From the original starters only nine returned for the jump off. Wellington, FL based owner-rider Pablo Barrios and his 10 year old bay Dutch Warmblood mare, “Nice To See You” had a clear first round time of 77.06. “Nice” continued the pleasantries with another clear second round time of 34.180 and the win.

Course designer Michel Vaillancourt provided a taste of things to come for this weekend’s featured event, the Horses Helping Horses Charity Grand Prix benefiting Old Friends Equine Rescue, with a flowing but very technical layout.

Bob Bell said “it’s exciting to see several of the JR jumpers moving up to compete with the seasoned Pros just for this special event. Many of them came just to ride in support of the rescue horses! It’s just wonderful!”

Rounding out the top spots were Sergio Campos and Shakira Do Jacare with a second place time of 36.281 seconds. Following in third was JR rider Kylee Jo Johnson with a time of 36.678.

Bell further commented, “All the buzz this week is about Saturday evening’s premiere of the Horses Helping Horses Charity Grand Prix! The support and enthusiasm for this event has been overwhelming. This event has a lot of personal attachment for me and I believe it’s a real opportunity to give something positive back to the horse community.”

The 1st Horses Helping Horses Grand Prix benefiting Old Friends Equine Rescue will take place Saturday, June 18th at 7PM. The public is invited to come be a part of the excitement beginning with a Silent Auction from 9A-5P in the Carriage Room of the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA with all proceeds going directly to the horses! The show starts each morning at 8am with classes going until about 4:00 each day. Week two of the series will host the Outback Steakhouse Grand Prix.
