1.40m Jumpers Goes to Alison Firestone and Intrepide du Valon at 2005 Winter Equestrian Festival in Tampa

Tampa, FL - March 23, 2005 - Seventy four starters took the field for the 1.40m Jumpers, again scored under Table II, Sec 2 (b). There were thirty three first round clears with thirteen double clear rides. Eleven competitors finished clean but with time penalties. Nineteen riders pulled a single rail for four faults while fifteen had eight or more faults.

Mac Cone came close to making it two in a row on opening Wednesday, but, Alison Firestone and Intrepide Du Valon spoiled the party for Cone by 3/10ths of a second.

Firestone’s winning time was 36.306 to Cone’s 36.660. Cone rode Ole, owned by Sara Houstoun to the red ribbon finish. Harry R Gill’s Game Boy and Todd Minikus finished third in 36.701 seconds.
