Wet Weather Wipes Out Wednesday’s Winter Equestrian Festival Schedule

Wet Weather at Wellington. Photo by Kenneth KrausWellington, FL– March 9, 2005 - An overnight weather front that dumped over two inches of rain on the Wellington area, continued this morning, finally forcing the cancellation of all activities on Wednesday at the 2005 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. This is the final week of show jumping at the nations largest and longest running equestrian showcase.

This week’s show is the CSIO United States - CN Finale CSIO-4*, featuring the Samsung Nations Cup on Friday evening at 7pm and the $100,000 U.S. Open Jumper Championship, presented by CN, on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.

Following rain and isolated thunderstorms during the balance of the day and occasional rain this evening, the Thursday forecast and beyond calls for sunny skies and mild temperatures.

The Internationale Arena will remain closed on Thursday. The majority of the classes originally scheduled there will go in the DeNemethy Arena beginning at 7:30am. Thursday’s featured events include the Acorn Hill Speed Challenge and the $25,000 Ariat WEF Challenge Cup, CSIO at 2pm.
