Coleman and Hidden Treasure Find Success in the $10,000 NAL Adult Hunter
Finals
Harrisburg, PA—October 22, 2004—Sharon Coleman and Hidden Treasure, owned by Sharon Coleman and Contemporary Motor Cars of Shrewsbury, NJ, took top honors in the $10,000 North American League (NAL) Adult Hunter Finals at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. The pair bested a field of 30 horses, receiving the highest score in both rounds to finish with a total score of 170 points. Romeo, owned and ridden by Michelle Orphanidys of Newport News, VA, was second with a score of 163. Coleman and Hidden Treasure qualified for the final by competing in NAL Adult Hunter classes at various locations throughout the year. The consistent performances that helped them reach Harrisburg proved to be the key to success in the final. Returning for the second round in inverse order of standing, no one in the top twelve was able to overthrow the pair with Coleman and her aged gelding. The winners scored 86 in the first round and 84 in the second. Audrey Latham and Biarritz were within reach of the top spot after they received an 84 in the first go, but their second round score of only 72 left them with 156 for sixth place. The only other pair to score in the 80s both rounds was Romeo and Orphanidys receiving scores of 80 and 83. The North American League (NAL) runs season-long series in six hunter-jumper divisions – Children’s Hunter, Children’s Jumper, Adult Hunter, Adult Jumper, Pony Jumper and Open Jumper Speed. Each series culminates with a championship final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA in October. Riders need not be members of the NAL to compete in any qualifying classes, but only current members earn points toward year-end finals.
