Aaron Vale Finishes First in National Welcome Qualifying Stake Grand Prix November 28, 2002 Aaron Vale of Camden, South Carolina defeated 29 other riders to finish first in the National Welcome Qualifying Stake grand prix at the 119th annual National Horse Show Wednesday at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club. Aaron Vale, aboard Nonix Le Pare, 15-year-old Australian Thoroughbred cleared the final obstacle, a large green and white oxer on the shortened course in 33.35 seconds to earn $7,500 first place money. Laura Lindback riding Grand Soso 2, placed second and received $5500 while Norman Dello Joio aboard Glasgow, finished third and received $3250.00. The National Horse Show was previously held at Madison Square Garden in New York City and The Meadowlands in New Jersey before moving to Wellington for the 2002 edition. General admission tickets are available by phone at (561) 753-3389. There is free admission for everyone on Thursday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors on Friday and Saturday. Children under 12 are free. Tickets for the grand finale on Sunday are $15 for adults, $7 for seniors and children under 12 are free. Results: $2,500
