Opening Day at the National Horse Show

Wellington, FL - Tuesday, November 26, 2002 – Hunter classes dominated the opening day, Tuesday, of the 119th annual National Horse Show as it began its first show at an outdoor venue at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club.

Scott Stewart of Wellington, riding Chopard, and Nancy Green Free of Seattle, Washington, aboard Ghaeli, were the only double winners on opening day.

The National Horse Show was previously held at Madison Square Garden in New York City and The Meadowlands in New Jersey before moving to Wellington for the 2002 edition.

General admission tickets are available by phone at (561) 753-3389 or at the entrance. Tickets are $10 for adults on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and $7 for seniors. Children under 12 are free. There is free admission for everyone on Thursday. Tickets for the grand finale on Sunday are $15 for adults, $7 for seniors and children under 12 are free.
