Les Vogt to be Featured on Wide World of Horses

Byars, Oklahoma - A monthly program on the new RFD-TV series, Wide World of Horses, will feature National Reined Cow Horse Association Hall of Fame Inductee Les Vogt and friends as they help riders succeed with their challenges and have a great time doing it. During each show Les will take on a head-to-hoof project, ranging from helping a rider to start his or her first colt, enter a first show, and even to go down the fence for their first time in preparation for a cow horse class.

With the help of a hand-picked troop of experts, Les will identify the tools and skills that will help the horse and rider team reach their goal with confidence. Watch for the shows to be loaded with training tips, guidelines for choosing the right equipment, help from vets and farriers, and the latest strategies for maintaining a horse’s health and happiness.

Cheryl Magoteaux, with True South, LLC, which produces Wide World of Horses, noted, “We’re excited to have Les coming on board with Wide World of Horses. We feel that these programs will really show people how to “make over” their horses, and solve problems – big and small. Les, with his wealth of information and experience, is a great one to head these programs.”

Les was excited, as well, ‘We’ve talked for a while about creating a show that could both entertain and educate the viewers, and we’re thrilled that the Wide World of Horses created that chance! Not only will I have the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the years, that is how to use traditional methods of horsemanship to create contemporary results; but we’ll be calling on experts from other areas too, to help our riders and horses however we can. It’s a lot to do in a half hour!! “

Vogt, one of the world’s most popular performance training clinicians, has won an array of world championships in reining and reined cow horse events. In addition to his career in the saddle, Les has successfully developed a number of leading edge tools for horsemen including equine boots, bits and training programs. Throughout the horse world Les is known for his big smile and big heart, sincerely working to insure that every rider can have a chance to enjoy horses as much as he has.

Wide World of Horses, by True South, LLC will air on RFD-TV in 2007, beginning on January 1. The weekly 30-minute program will spotlight many of the stars of the equine industry each Monday at 4:30 and 10:30 pm and Tuesday at 8:30 am.
