Anne Reynolds and Eric Freitas Tie For Non Pro Herd Work Prelim Lead Former National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity Non Pro Champion Anne Reynolds, of King Hill, Idaho, drew up second in the Snaffle Bit Futurity Non Pro Herd Work Preliminaries to set the pace with a 216 riding More Magic Please. Her score held the lead until Eric Freitas, Santa Maria, California, entered the arena in the fourth set to also post a 216 with CD Changer. Eric and Anne are tied in the 64-entry Non Pro division going in to tomorrow’s Rein Work Preliminaries. Anne’s leading horse is a 3-year-old stallion sired by Chic Please and out of Magical Lena. Anne won the 1998 Non Pro Snaffle Bit Futurity with Magical Lena, by Little Lenas Legend, and returned in 2003 for the Championship with Legendary Colonel, also by Little Lenas Legend. CD Changer, a CD Olena stallion out of Nu Berta also secured Eric’s lead in the 49-entry Intermediate Non Pro division. In the Amateur, Matthew Armenta, leads 51 entries with a 215.5. Matthew, of Whitesboro, Texas, is riding Smarty Montana – a daughter of Hesa Smart Chic out of Montanas Playgirl. Three-time Non Pro Futurity Champion JoAnne Carollo, of Atascadero, California, rode ARC Hollys Chicadee to lead the Ladies division with a 213. ARC Hollys Chicadee is sired by Chic Please and out of Hickorys Holly Cee. The Futurity continues Wednesday with the Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro and Amateur Rein Work Preliminaries and runs through October 2 at the Reno Livestock Event Center in Nevada.
