Dan Roeser Becomes National Reined Cow Horse Association President February 18, 2005 - As the Bayer Legend™ National Reined Cow Horse Association Celebration of Champions events were getting underway Friday afternoon, the NRCHA Board met and named a new leader. Dan Roeser, Marsing, Idaho, will represent the NRCHA as President for 2005. “It’s a tremendous honor for me,” Roeser said of his position. “My family roots run deep in the reined cow horse industry. It’s not something that I really had thought about doing before but I’m happy for the opportunity and intend to do my best.” Also elected were Larry Bell, Midland, Texas, Vice President; Howard Erenberg, Santa Ynez, California, Treasurer; and Carol Rose, Gainesville, Texas, Secretary. Todd Crawford, Blanchard, Oklahoma, is the new Chair of the Limited Aged Event Committee and Allen Moyer of San Martin, California, was named Chair of the Rules Committee. Both also became members of the Executive Committee. “I’m delighted to be a member of the NRCHA and its Executive Committee,” Moyer commented. “I’m looking forward to helping to add value to the NRCHA over the next year.” NRCHA 2005 Board members also include former NRCHA President Benny Guitron, Merced, California; Rick Drayer, LeGrand, California; David Archer, Clovis, California; Jon Roeser, Lemoore, California; Russell Dilday, Porterville, California; Jake Gorrell, Hanford, California; Sam Rose, Pilot Point, Texas; and Randy Paul, Scottsdale, Arizona. “I believe strongly in the future of the NRCHA and we’re in a time of unprecedented growth right now within the association,” Dan Roeser commented. “I’m very grateful to Benny Guitron, who was the NRCHA President this past year, for his leadership and guidance. The association is in great shape and this World Championship Show has more than doubled in size over the last year. The future couldn’t look brighter for us." The National Reined Cow Horse Association, the 56-year-old governing body of cow horse competition, is responsible for promoting the sport, insuring high standards of competition and educating members and the public about the history and tradition of the cow horse.
