March 19, 2004 - The National Reined Cow Horse Association and Ward Ranch have announced the selection of the 2004 NRCHA Raffle Colt. The annual NRCHA Colt Raffle is an institution for the NRCHA and several alumni have gone on to place in the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity and other major events.

With the memorable name of Mister Master Card, this year's raffle colt is a bay son of Mister Dual Pep out of Miss Master Blaster, a daughter of Master Remedy. As always, the donated colt is representative of the genetic excellence of the Ward Ranch. Mister Dual Pep, owned by Sheila Head, stands at the Ward Ranch, and the 1993 son of Peppy San Badger out of Miss Dual Doc, was 4th at the NCHA Open Super Stakes, as well as a Gold Cost 5/6-Year-Old Open Winner.

The colt's dam, Miss Master Blaster, is one of the late Greg Ward's last futurity entries and she's also an exemplary producer, as the dam of Miss Plain Plain, the mare on which Russell Dilday won the 2003 Magnificent Seven championship.

Raffle Colt tickets are sold by NRCHA members and by the NRCHA office, with the drawing slated for October 3 during the final performance of the 2004 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity in Reno.

The Ward Ranch was founded in 1972 by NRCHA Hall of Fame member, Greg Ward and his family. Ward Ranch was built physically and genetically around the much-acclaimed mare Fillinic, one of the industry’s leading producers. The mother of 1972 champion, Sugarnic, and grandmother of 1981 futurity champion, Sugar Remedy, and many other futurity finalists are credited to this mare and her daughters. Her son, Reminic, is the sire of 1998 Snaffle Bit Futurity champion, Reminics Pep, and 1986 champion, Smokinic. Fillinic’s grandson, Master Remedy, is the sire of: Otoe Master, Master Chex, Masteroani, and Master Rani Chex.
