Futurity Featured on "America's Horse" Television- Open
Finals Coverage on Wednesday, February 12
Amarillo, Texas - February 10, 2003 - The National Reining Horse Association Futurity takes center stage on this week's premiere episode of "America's Horse," the only television series dedicated to covering the horse industry on the Outdoor Life Network. The 2002 NRHA Futurity open finals featured 30 top 3-year-old reining horses and exhibitors competing for a $150,000 check to the winner. The excitement of the crowd grew with each exhibitor until the 29th horse, Wimpys Little Step and Shawn Flarida. The duo earned a 233, the second highest score in NRHA Futurity, and a standing ovation from the crowd. "America's Horse" will feature the winning run as explained by Flarida, who also represented the United States at the 2002 World Equestrian Games, taking home team and individual gold medals. An encore episode is set for Sunday, February 16 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern and Wednesday, February 19 at 7 p.m. Eastern. The full hour of "America's Horse" kicks off at 7 p.m. with an encore presentation of the Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championship Rodeo from Amarillo, Texas followed by the NRHA Futurity Finals at 7:30 p.m. From historic ranches and premier competitions to scenic trail rides and colorful people, "America's Horse" leads the way in equestrian lifestyle television. In 2003, AQHA brings 130 hours of television dedicated to the American Quarter Horse lifestyle to OLN viewers. A full hour of "America's Horse" awaits viewers Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Viewers also can enjoy an encore episode Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. "America's Horse" presents a special one-hour program on March 26 at 7 p.m. Eastern dedicated to American Quarter Horse owners. Meet people from all walks of life who enjoy the American Quarter Horse, plus learn how you can participate in horse activities without even buying a horse. An encore presentation of this program will be on March 30 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern.
