Bitterroot Ranch to Host Renowned Horsewoman Linda-Tellington Jones
May 4, 2004 - Internationally recognized horse expert Linda Tellington-Jones will once again be teaching her annual Starting Young Horse Clinic at the Bitterroot Ranch, Dubois, Wyoming, June 13-20, 2004. This year marks the 15th anniversary of this popular TTEAM clinic. Its also the only opportunity for horse people to work with Tellington-Jones in the United States this year.
Tellington-Jones will guide participants in preparing 3 and 4-year-old Bitterroot Ranch Arabians for riding in this 8 day clinic. Accommodations and meals will also be at the 2000 acre guest ranch, nestled in the Rocky Mountains along the idyllic Wind River.
TTEAM (Tellington-Jones Equine Awareness Method), developed some 30 years ago, is a safe, kind and effective method of working with horses utilizing ground exercises and bodywork techniques. TTEAM emphasizes optimal performance while enhancing health and well-being. The method offers practical solutions to common behavioral and physical problems, without inflicting pain, tension or fear on the horse. Tellington-Jones has taught horse people the world over, including many Olympic teams.
Brooke OFlaherty, a participant from last years clinic said: Before I went to Bitterroot Ranch, I thought I was going to learn how to break horses--which in my mind meant trying to be really brave while wrestling with colts, maybe managing to get a saddle on in a weeks time, and probably coming home with a bruise or two. But believe me, everything Linda Tellington-Jones teaches is just the opposite of what I expected--neither the horse nor its spirit is ever broken. I never got scared--even once--and that was certainly a first for me! We learned how to develop a safe relationship with horses while achieving things I never thought possible. Linda taught me how to understand the real nature of horses, how to respect them, how to get them to respect me--and achieve incredible results. At the end of the week, we had horses who had undergone a training process that was gentle, kind and effective. The horses transitioned from totally untrained to safe, calm, willing and rideable. And as a bonus, I feel really privileged to have learned the world-famous TTEAM and TTouch methods from Linda. Ive never had so much fun with horses in my entire life!
Horse people of all levels are welcome at this clinic; the only prerequisite is a desire to develop a meaningful, safe and rewarding relationship with horses.
