Labor Day Weekend Packed With Shows Amarillo, Texas - Labor Day Weekend traditionally marks the end of summer and for people looking for one more family getaway, the American Quarter Horse Association has a way. From people team penning in New York to English riding in British Columbia, AQHA will be hosting dozens of shows throughout the world this Labor Day weekend. Beginning on Friday and continuing through Monday of the Labor Day Weekend, more than 30 states and Canadian Provinces will be hosting shows. "Labor Day weekend is a great time of the year for people who enjoy showing American Quarter Horses," said Bill Brewer AQHA Executive Vice President. "It's exciting to look at the schedule to see shows for amateurs, novice, competitors who specialize, youth and professionals. The fact that we offer shows in cities across North America gives both competitors and fans a chance to experience a show in their area." For people who are just starting their show careers or who would like additional educational material, AQHA has a library of free information that can be obtained by calling the Association at 806-376-4811. Available information includes a free video entitled "Show Me," which follows several people as they attend an American Quarter Horse show; "Your First American Quarter Horse Show," a printed guide that takes people step-by-step through a typical show; and "Showtime, A Guide To Showing." For people who want to receive information online, including video clips, simply visit www.aqha.com. Each year, AQHA approves some 2,700 shows and special events across throughout the world.
