"Since our association was formed more than 60 years ago we have seen a steady rise in women's membership and participation," said Bill Brewer, AQHA Executive Vice President. "Our partnership with the Women's Sports Foundation allows us to recognize those women athletes who are representing the American Quarter Horse in athletic events nationwide."

"The Women’s Sports Foundation is honored to be involved with the American Quarter Horse Association,” said Women's Sports Foundation President Julie Foudy. “This program allows us to use the strengths of both organizations to create greater opportunities for girls and women in the equine community."
