Web Site Unveils Legislative Action Center
Amarillo, Texas - AQHA Members can now give their state and federal legislators quick and personal responses to pending equine-related bills through a new Web site initiative. By traveling to the Member Services area of aqha.com, Members can tap into the latest legislation impacting the equine industry and quickly respond to their respective representatives. After entering the Member Services area, Members can click on the Public Policy link and be transported to the new feature. The Web innovation allows Members to locate their respective state and federal congressmen, read updates on pending legislation, find and e-mail local media outlets. The site also provides information about the best ways to contact elected officials and delivers updates on key votes and current legislation. It also provides direct email addresses to elected officials, newspapers, magazines, television stations and other news media outlets. "For the first time, AQHA Members have a central location where they can keep up with legislative issues that impact the equine industry," said Ward Stutz, Director of Membership Services and Public Policy. "It's another benefit to AQHA Membership, and one we believe will prove valuable to the horse industry everywhere." In addition, Members can join the AQHA Legislative Equine Response Team, which comprises Members willing to contact government officials and provide them with information about equine issues. Members can take the ALERT survey and provide AQHA with valuable information about their political contacts and interests. Capitol Advantage, a Washington, D.C.-based company and the largest publisher of Congressional directors hosts the site. In addition to directories, the company developed the Internet-driven CapWiz system that acts as an electoral a grassroots legislative action tool. |
