Lovett Sports AQHA Championship Buckle in National Magazine Advertisement
AMARILLO, Texas -- Country music icon Lyle Lovett accented his western attire with a pair of custom made boots and his 2000 AQHA/MBNA America® Challenge Championships belt buckle for a special advertising spread in the October issue of GQ magazine. The Texas-raised singer is dubbed "America's quintessential poetic lyricist" and is featured in a eight-page advertising fold out for Toyota Camry. He's featured with 70s group R&B band, Earth, Wind and Fire; 80s all-girl punk group, the Go-Go's; and recent soul sensation Kina. GQ's a men's fashion and lifestyles magazine. Lovett's Challenge Championship buckle came courtesy of his brown mare Love First's first place finish in the Centaur Texas Challenge Trial at Retama Park. The top finish in the 400-yard-trial qualified her for a spot in the Centaur Texas Challenge, in which she placed sixth. Lovett owned the 3-year-old with his father Bill. Both have been longtime owners of American Quarter Horses. |
