L' Annče Hippique 1998-1999 The Official Yearbook of The FEI
The new L'Annče Hippique 1998-1999 is now available. The international equestrian yearbook professionally portrays the equestrian events of the past year, in three different languages (English, German, and French). Much attention is devoted to the different equestrian disciplines of the Fčdčration Equestre Internationale (FEI). These articles are illustrated with numerous beautiful photographs by the world's best equestrian photographers. L' Annče Hippique also contains a complete run-down of the World Equestrian Games, which were held last October in Rome, and reports on both World Cup Finals. Sports coverage is not the only important part of the new L' Annče Hippique; the book also focuses on several other items. For example, one article in the book discusses the future of three-day eventing. Another item is a top-ten list of the all-time best dressage horses, headed by Anne-Grethe Jensen-Tornblad's legendary horse Marzog, and followed by Nicole Uphoff's Rembrandt. The book has also reserved space for subjects such as "the horse in art", and a number of background stories, written by prominent equestrian personalities. The L' Annče Hippique Ratings and Best Events are announced at the presentation of the L' Annče Hippique. Rodrigo Pessoa was chosen as Jumping Rider of the Year, while Isabell Werth won the title of Dressage Rider of the Year, and Blyth Tait gained the title of Three-day-event Rider of the Year. The Drivers of the Year are Werner Ulrich (4-in-hand), and Vilmos Lazar (pairs). This year, the L' Annče Hippique also announces the best events for jumping and three-day-eventing; the driving and dressage shows will be announced next year. CHIO Aachen was once again voted Best Outdoor Event, Stuttgart was named Best Indoor Event, and Burghley beat "big brother" Badminton in the race for the title of Best Three-day Event. This is the 48th edition of L' Annče Hippique, published by Best Communications and Management in Best (The Netherlands). The first edition was published in Switzerland in 1943. This year, the prologue was written by Joachim Furst zu Furstenberg, of Donaueschingen, the location of the show that hosted the 1998 Dressage CDI and Samsung Nations Cup Showjumping Final. L' Annče Hippique is the official yearbook of the Fčdčration Equestre Internationale. The book contains a total of 472 pages, including the show results. The book, in its beautiful hardback cover (24 x 33 cm) costs NLG 110.00, not including postage costs and VAT. L' Annče Hippique can be ordered from: BCM, P.O.
