Tellington-Jones Honored with Silver Star Award
June 12, 2003 - Linda Tellington-Jones has recently been honored with the Publishers Silver Star Award of Recognition from Trail Blazer Magazine, as tribute to her contributions to the horse world. Linda Tellington-Jones is the Founder of TTEAM (Tellington-Touch Equine Awareness Method), Founder of Animal Ambassadors, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Riding Instructors Association, and was named Horsewoman of the Year from the North American Horsemens Association. She is an accomplished horsewoman in multiple disciplines, having competed and won in many equestrian sports, and is the author of 19 videos and 11 books in 12 languages. According to Susan E. Gibson, Publisher of Trail Blazer magazine, Linda has been the most substantial contributor and influential individual on the horse industry in the past 25 years! She has blazed new trails in horse training and profoundly affected how we treat horses and train them today. According to Gibson, Lindas work has influenced the methods of some of the most famous horsemen and women around the globe. When Linda works with a horse, she asks Why? when a horse is being difficult. In the old days, trainers didnt ask why, they just found ways to make the horse do things. She builds a language with a horse and allows him to be successful. And Linda allows people to see horses with new eyes, training horses with respect and compassion. Gibson continued, It is with great love, respect, and admiration that I am proud to honor Linda with the Publishers Silver Star Award of Recognition, as the greatest two-legged star in the horse world over the past quarter century. Top-level trainers, veterinarians and horse owners are using TTEAM worldwide, recognizing it as a very effective method of training, reducing stress, and overcoming resistance in horses. TTEAM offers solutions to common behavioral and physical problems. TTEAM Trainers recognize that a horses behavioral issues are often caused by pain, soreness, fear or tension in the horses body. TTEAM provides tools to relieve these issues, without using dominance or force. Today Linda travels worldwide, working with horses of all disciplines. Her work has continued to evolve and in the past two decades has been expanded to benefit animals of all kinds. Lindas TTEAM and TTouch methods have spread around the world, with over 500 equine and companion animal practitioners in 12 countries, working with horses, companion animals, zoo animals and wildlife.
