Ryerss Farm Holds Successful Second Annual Horseless Horse Show
A Fun-filled Day for Kids, Parents and Horses Alike

Coventryville, PA - June 2, 2003 - The Second Annual Ryerss Benefit Horseless Horse Show, held on Saturday, May 10, proved to be a tremendous success. Taking place on the grounds of Ryerss Farm in South Coventry Township, the show featured children competing on their own feet in traditional horse show classes, including barrel racing, pole bending, trail, short stirrup and open hunter. New to the show this year was a gaming ring where whole families enjoyed events such as egg and spoon races and feed sack relays. Sixty-three people participated, and the Horseless Horse Show helped raise over $2,000 for the farm.

"It was a great day all around," said Jessie Phillips, organizer of the event and member of the Ryerss Farm Auxiliary. "It was exciting to see some of the same faces from last year and also meet new families who came to the event to have fun and support Ryerss."

In addition to the competition, the Ryerss Auxiliary organized a food stand, bake sale, gift table and raffle, and visitors enjoyed taking time to relax and commune with Ryerss nearly 100 retired equine residents. The Horseless Horse Show is just one of the ways the Ryerss Auxiliary helps raise money to support the farm each year.

The Third Annual Ryerss Farm Live and Silent Auction will be held on Sunday, October 19 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the West Chester Holiday Inn. Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is the oldest and largest animal welfare organization of its kind. A nonprofit/charitable organization, it is dedicated to providing a place of peaceful retirement for aged horses, 18 and older. For the one-time fee of just $3,500, owners can provide their horses with a safe and loving home at Ryerss for the rest of their lives.
