PBC Equine Herpes Outbreak/ Command Post Information

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) have established a command post (CP) here in West Palm Beach concerning the recent Equine Herpes Outbreak.

This command post will operate from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and has established a contact and rumor control telephone number at: 866-568-2836. The USDA and FDACS command post has been established to evaluate and possibly quarantine horses examined in Palm Beach County and the surrounding areas.

Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service, which is next to Mounts Botanical Garden on Military Trail near West Palm Beach.

At this time, the USDA/FDACS joint command post has not asked for any local law enforcement (LEO) assistance concerning enforcement of any orders or quarantines.
