Names Eventing Squad For World Equestrian Games
Gladstone, NJSeptember 3, 2002The United States Equestrian Team (USET) has announced that the following horse-and-rider combinations were named to the Squad for the 2002 World Equestrian Games (WEG) Eventing Team:
These horse/rider combinations represent the USA Definite Entry for the 2002 WEG Eventing Competition. The following horse/rider combinations were named as alternates to the Squad:
Bruce Davidson, Jr. opted to start the endurance phase of the Burghley CCI**** on Saturday, August 31, 2002 thereby opting to withdraw from further consideration for selection for the 2002 WEG Eventing Team. The Team, Individuals and alternate that will travel to Spain on Monday, September 9, 2002 will be named on Sunday, September 8, 2002. The United States Equestrian Team is a non-profit organization that selects, trains, equips and finances equestrians of the highest possible standard to represent our country in major international competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships. To accomplish this the USET seeks out and nurtures the development of talented athletes - riders, drivers, vaulters and horses - and provides the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest potential.
