Sara Kozumplik Has It As She Likes It - page 3

Sarah KozumplikKozumplik has taken over the reins of Never Ending Riding School in Virginia from her mother Carole, who retired, and now has nine competition horses and a string of school horses on which she teaches a large group of young students. One of them recently did her first three-day event at Bromont in Canada. "I really want to do more with Pony Club now," said Kozumplik, a Graduate A. "I think they need better programs for developing Young Riders, and that Pony Club should feed into the Young Riders Program."

Last year she was shortlisted, and this year she is in the Developing Rider program. Her immediate focus is to go to Burghley this year and to try to qualify for next year's Pan-Am Games, and down the road she would like to try for the Olympics in Athens, 2004. But her outlook is realistic, not dreamy: "I just turned 23, and I want to be the best at what I do. But first I want to learn to ride really well, and if it happens then I'll do the big competitions."
