| Amy Tryon and My Beau Win Advanced Horse Trials
For HorsesDaily® by Rachel Odell Having completed the four star event at Rolex and with her eyes set on a future Olympic bid, the USET 1999 Pan American Games team veteran, Amy Tryon of Redmond, Wash., seemed the perfect rider to break in the new division. Riding My Beau, a 10-year old thoroughbred owned by Barbara and Bob Mesher of Redmond, Amy finished with a final score of 47.5, winning $3,000 and beating Vicki Koss of Ketchum, Idaho, on Goldmill who ended the weekend second with a final score of 51.63. Tryon, who is sponsored by Romfh Equestrian Wear and by Olson's Tack shop, commended Spring Creek owners Bill and Robin Weiss for adding the advanced division that featured a first-class course built by Capt. Mark Phillips. "We've gotten some wonderful courses in the area and it certainly raises the level of competition to have this," she said. "The more advanced we get out west, the more competitive our horses will be." |
