| 2000 Jackson Hole Horse Trials - August 25-27
Introducing an advanced division for the first time, the cross-country course designed by Capt. Mark Phillips and constructed by Mick Costello rode beautifully, clearly establishing this event as one of the premier competitions of the West. With over 200 rides competitors came from California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Washington, and even Louisanna. One thing on which the competitors all agree, it's worth the trip. But it's not just the horse action that makes this event. Hosted by Bill and Robin Weiss, hospitality abounds, from fine wine and dinners for the hard working officials, to Sporting Clay Shooting, and Fly-Casting lessons. The Saturday night competitors party is the happening place to be with live music and dancing. Then there's the shopping and fine dining in the very western town of Jackson Hole, that stages a daily shoot out, and features a nightly "Petticoat Review" at an old-time theatre. The magnificent Teton Mountain Range, is the perfect backdrop for our photos, although it is hazy from the distant smoke of the wildfires that have been plaguing the west.
