The 80 Mile Endurance Ride at The 2001 USET Festival of Champions

Wendy Bejaro and Sue Greenall

Sue BejaranoRiding isn't the only life for these endurance riders. Wendy Bejarano is a part time veterinarian technician, which she's been doing for ten years. Sue Greenall is retired from teaching science. She's been an endurance rider for 14 years and before that did combined driving along with her husband John.

Bejarano had grown up "always wanting a horse and never allowed. When I got older I got a horse and rode all day. Finally someone told me I should try competitive trail riding." And so she did and the rest is history.

Going 80-miles in the mud isn't what either rider was thinking about when they first started endurance riding, but that's the beauty of the sport. They start the day in the wee hours of the morning not really knowing what lay ahead. That's all part of the fun.
