Qualifies to Ride for Israel at WEG
Oded Shimoni
of Brewster, NY and Wellington, FL achieved a personal goal
at the Washington International Dressage Classic in Upper
Marlboro, MD, on Oct 17-19. The Israeli native qualified for
next year's World Dressage Championships by winning the Grand
Prix on Amora with a score of 62.84. If selected by The Israeli
Equestrian Federation, as one of three horse and rider combinations
currently under consideration, Shimoni would be the first
Israeli to ride in The World Dressage Championships.
To
qualify, two scores of 60% from FEI O rated judges were needed.
He accomplished the first qualifying score at the NEDA show
in September.
Currently
at his winter location in Wellington Florida, Shimoni and
partner Nancy Later are preparing for the winter dressage
circuit in Florida. They hope to move to Europe two to three
months prior to The World Equestrian Games, being held in
Rome the last week in September, and first week in October.
