Michael Shondel was a Team Gold Medalist at the 2003 North American Young Riders' Championship Team in Bromont , Canada , riding his own Wallaby, a Hanoverian by Werther out of Gordola. In 2004 he moved into the adult ranks placing in the ribbons throughout the Dressage in Florida season.

Shondel a 21-year-old college student at Delaware Valley College, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is an officer candidate in the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, who manages a full schedule of classes as well as training and competing his two horses, Wallaby and Silver Label a 7-year-old Swedish Warmblood by Rambo.

It is Shondel's dream to someday compete in uniform for the United States , as a Marine Corps Officer.
