Marines Present Olympian Michelle Gibson with Sho Clothes Championship Award at Wellington Classic Show

Betsy Rebar Sell, Noreen O’Sullivan, and United States Marines preset the Sho Clothes PSG custom engraved whip to Olympian Michelle Gibson at the Wellington Classic Holiday Challenge. JR Photo Palm Beach, Fl- Olympian Michelle Gibson earned a 72.500% in the Prix St. Georges class at the Wellington Classic Holiday Challenge held in December at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida.  Gibson rode Don Angelo, Teri Kane’s 16.2 hand Oldenburg stallion to this high score. Gibson, a member of the bronze medal winning 1996 US Olympic Team, and the seven-year-old Don Angelo won the class and the title of the Sho Clothes High Score PSG Champion.  The pair went on to win the Intermediaire 1 on Sunday with a 68.500%.

Sho Clothes had beautiful custom made whips engraved with the Sho Clothes logo to award the PSG champions. Sho Clothes co-owner and Pan American Games Gold Medalist, Betsy Rebar Sell, was on hand to present the award, as well as two United States Marines and show manager Noreen O’Sullivan. The Marines were at the competition to promote Toys For Tots, a fundraiser promoted by O’Sullivan and the competition.  Rebar Sell was happy to present the award on behalf of Sho Clothes.

Gibson and Don Angelo have proved to be a successful match.  In 2006, they entered in the Eastern Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Selection Trials for Six Year Olds and received Reserve Champion honors.  The duo became Champions at the 2007 USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championships.  Gibson hopes that 2008 will take her and Don Angelo to the USEF National Intermediaire 1 Championship in Gladstone, New Jersey.

Sho Clothes sponsored a High Score PSG Champion award in its on-going effort to support the Small Tour FEI levels.  “Because Betsy Rebar Sell is a Pan Am Gold Medalist, success at this level holds a special meaning to us”, said Michele Hundt who co-owns and operates Sho Clothes with Rebar Sell.

Sho Clothes has been serving the dressage community since 2001. Today, Sho Clothes is a popular stop for fine dressage apparel.  The Sho Clothes mobile boutique is set up at all the South Florida major dressage shows throughout the 2008 season. Visit www.shoclothes.com for more information.
