2007 Palm Beach Dressage Derby

Jocelyn Wiese and Lamborghini Do It Again

by Lyndee Kemmet

It was a repeat performance for 18-year-old Jocelyn Wiese and Lamborghini. After being the big young rider winners two weeks ago at the Gold Coast Opener Revisited, they did it again at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby winning the FEI Young Riders Team Test with a score of 69.632.

“I’m really happy with today, it was a good ride. I’m really happy to have won two shows in a row. It shows that we’re really together. It’s not just a one-time deal. We’re here to stay,” Wiese said of her win. “I trust him so much more. Everything is coming together.”

Wiese felt her latest ride with the 11-year-old Dutch gelding (by Michellino) was even better than two weeks ago. “The canter was definitely better this weekend. I’ve been getting him more together.” Their next stop is the upcoming young riders clinic and then Lamorghini will take a much-deserved week off. “I don’t want to kill him. I don’t want to kill him. I want to keep him happy.”
