Hanging With Dr. Mushroom

Inside the horse trailer of Marvin and Deborah Hausman, owners of Quailhurst Farm and Vineyard, bottles of their award-winning Pinot Noir were uncorked and free wine was passed around to all who passed by. Deborah, however, did not partake since she had a 7:15 p.m. ride with her seven-year-old mare Tjinja (by Kennedy).

Along with wine, Marvin passed out information and samples of the Mushroom Matrix, a new equine nutritional supplement developed by Marvin and produced by Golden Gourmet Mushrooms of San Marcos, California.

Meanwhile back on the east coast where the Mushroom Matrix was introduced at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, the raves are coming in. "I'll be your spokesperson any day." declared Jane Hannigan. Hannigan who qualified for the trip west for the League Finals opted not to go, and set her sights on the USEF Festival of Champions in June. Two weeks after she started Maksymillian on the product, the pair won the Grand Prix at the Wellington CDI. "We started one young horse who has been quite spooky on it, and noticed a difference within days. Then, what is really amazing, is we took him off of it, and he got all nervous again, and when we put him back on, once again he regained calm and focus."
